I explained the Blessing for Life part of my blog in an early post, but did not share the significance of the number 17.
When I was in 7th grade, I joined the soccer team at school. My family was on vacation during the first week of practice, so I was not there when they handed out jerseys. The night before I would be able to get my jersey, I was thinking about what number I wanted, knowing there would only be a few left. I thought getting number 17 would be cool because that was my birthday - December 17th. I met with the coach the next day to get a jersey, and sure enough - number 17 was left there just for me! I played soccer for 5 years and was always number 17.
